Housekeeping Practical Training

East Asia Management University (EAMU) welcomed Mrs. Bou Sreynoch, Assistant Housekeeping Manager at Amata Residence, to lead a Housekeeping Practical Training session for students of the Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) program. Held in EAMU's dedicated hospitality training room on campus, the session gave students a rare opportunity to learn directly from an active industry professional in a fully equipped, hotel-standard environment.

Mrs. Sreynoch opened the session with a structured introduction to professional housekeeping standards, walking students through the theory behind room preparation with reference materials and visual guides drawn from her daily work at Amata Residence. Her teaching style was direct and practical — setting the tone for a session where students would not just observe, but do.

Students were guided step by step through the core skills of professional room preparation. Mrs. Sreynoch demonstrated how to properly prepare and make a bed to hotel standard, how to set and arrange linen with precision, and the correct technique for folding towels — a detail that, as she explained, communicates care and attention to every guest who enters the room.

The training also covered how to prepare and organize cleaning equipment and guest amenities — a critical skill in professional housekeeping that ensures rooms are turned over efficiently and to consistent quality. Using actual Amata Residence-branded amenity kits, toiletries, and equipment, students experienced firsthand what industry-standard preparation looks and feels like.

By the end of the session, the training room reflected the results of students' efforts — a fully made bed, neatly folded linen, and a room arranged to professional hospitality standards. The transformation was a hands-on reminder that great hospitality begins with precision, discipline, and pride in the craft.
