East Asia Management University Celebrates the Achievement of Graduates at Foundation Year Graduation Ceremony
[Phnom Penh, 28th February 2025] — East Asia Management University (EAMU) proudly hosted a vibrant graduation ceremony today, marking a significant milestone for the 4th intake of students who have successfully completed their Degree Foundation Year (DFY). The event was graced by the esteemed presence of H.E Dr. San Vathana, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) and Chairman of the Accreditation Committee of Cambodia (ACC), alongside distinguished guests from both academic and industry sectors.
In his welcoming address, Professor James Chua, Vice-Chancellor of EAMU, congratulated the graduates on their outstanding achievements and expressed heartfelt appreciation to the teaching staff and administrative teams for their unwavering support throughout the students’ journey. Prof. James emphasized the vital role of mentorship and guidance at every stage of the learning process, from the transition from High school to graduation. He highlighted EAMU’s unique learning environment, where students are developed into critical thinkers and problem-solvers equipped with strong values as responsible global citizens.
“EAMU is dedicated to providing our students with the transferable skills and career support they need to thrive in a global landscape,” Prof. James underlined. “Our goal is to produce employment-ready graduates who possess the attributes and competencies that meet industry demands.” “At EAMU, we cultivate a vibrant and enriching environment that promotes intellectual curiosity and personal growth. We believe in equipping our students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to thrive in a globalized world”.
Turning to the parents, Professor James expressed his deep gratitude for their steadfast support and encouragement. “Your belief in your children has been instrumental in their success. EAMU is honoured to partner with you in shaping the future of these young leaders,” he stated. He encouraged graduates to embrace future challenges, maintain a commitment to lifelong learning, and strive for excellence in all their endeavours.
Witnessing their child’s graduation today is not only a testament to their children’s hard work but also a source of immense pride for the families. Among the graduates, Minh Johnathan stood out as a prime example of the program’s success. He consistently demonstrated exceptional academic performance while actively participating in various extracurricular activities. Expressing gratitude, he stated, “The Foundation program at EAMU has been a transformative experience. The dedicated faculty and supportive environment have truly fostered my academic growth. I am particularly thankful for the focus on both subject knowledge excellence and soft skills, which I believe will be invaluable in my career. Choosing EAMU was the best decision I’ve made, and I am proud to be an EAMUan. The skills and knowledge I have gained here will undoubtedly help me in my future endeavours.”
In his address, the Guest of Honour, H.E Dr. San Vathana, stressed the critical role of quality education in driving Cambodia’s national development.
